Book Reviews of Mars Needs Moms!

Book Review: Nice concept
Summary: 4 Stars

A good book for adults to read to kids. Both my kids were facinated. However the book was too short, and my eldest daughter had difficulty reading some words such as tyrant. Very entertaining though.

Book Review: Now this one needs a sequal.....
Summary: 5 Stars

I liked this book so much I bought three copies to send to daughters with (grand) children. Now Mr. Breathed, do the same for fathers, who, like the "heroine" in this book, would and do, sacrifice all for their families.

Book Review: Parents and kids will love this book!
Summary: 5 Stars

Parenthood can be life-transforming. Breathed is no exception as recent media coverage surrounding his latest opus shows. This is a book that both parents and children can relate to and enjoy together. The story is both humorous and touching. The characters and artwork have lots of detail that children love. The book illustrates it is natural for parents to love unconditionally despite their occasional exasperation, and it is natural for children to see beyond adult stereotypes and return the love. A wonderful book to be widely shared. Let's just hope sister-tinting doesn't become a new fad for young boys! Bravo, Berkeley!

Book Review: Perfect for explaining the world to children
Summary: 5 Stars

This helped my daughter understand her mom a lot. Mikayla is 10. Mom is not

Book Review: Pleasing to the eye, releasing for the mind
Summary: 5 Stars

Breathed's art typically makes one, well, breathless. Here, with Mars Needs Moms, one becomes weightless with wonder at his drawing abilities. He's in as good of form as ever -- or better -- with this wonderful mix of humans and extra-extra terrestrials. While the art and story are literally out this world, the storyline is very earth-bound: families are so easily taken for granted, but nothing matters more in this or any other world. Breathed suggests it take a Martian's eye-view to keep us properly grounded. Nice to think about, but the real treat here is for the eyes. My son and I still periodically go back to Fudwapper and Wish for Wings that work; this surely is another opus for Breathed.
