Book Review: An interesting basic guide to the author's knife system.
Summary: 4 Stars
First off, I do not agree with Mr. Ryan's personal knife fighting style. However, his book does have some important and valid information on the use of the knife and knife counter tactics. I have attempted to use his SUPPORT HAND IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE METHOD with my students. I personally found it too distracting keeping my hand in front of my eyes as is taught in his book. For me, and some of my students, the hand in front of the face took away from the job at hand, that being to focus on cutting my opponent before he gets me. To be fair, I still recommend this book to anyone interested in the blade arts. The author covers a wide range of material in this book that is of value. The author is well known for his skills and covers the following in this book. Weapons of war, dynamic combat, the real world, the edge of reality, the cutting edge, the science of the blade, the art of the cut, defense and counter-attack, blade tactics, blade strategies, deadly mistakes, the deadly mind and many other interesting topics. Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J.
