Book Reviews of Master of the GameBook Review: A MUST READ!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Sidney Sheldon is the master of the game capturing romance, twisting plots, greed, intrigue, and a furthering menu of exciting characters. This is my most favorite Sidney Sheldon read. I thought Sands of Time would be at the top of the list, but now just finished reading Master of the Game. IMO this is the best he's done. You will not be disappointed. This one is a page turner. Another classic for my library.
Book Review: A Master Writer! Summary: 5 Stars
This was the first Sidney Sheldon book I read and it launched a whole new direction for my endless hunger for great books! I read it about 2 years ago and have since filled an entire shelf on my bookcase with his books! I tell everyone I know who enjoys non stop action with twists and turns that this book is a MUST! The emotions are raw and charged and the reader is drawn into these characters as if you actually know them. INCREDIBLE!
Book Review: A Slight Disappointment Summary: 3 Stars
After having read two or three great novels by Sidney Sheldon, Master of the Game was a slight disappointment. The story was too predictable. The last book of the novel was the best. The book is worth reading...but I wouldn't read it twice as I've done other books.
Book Review: A good story with a special historic touch Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book. The main character is a strong woman who wants to have control over all areas of her life, and definitely overdoes it at times, falling into the tempation to control the lives of those around her, as well. But despite that, the reader will find her fashinating and enticing, probably because of all the had to go through, the environment she grew up in, and the story and character of both her parents. This is accomplished by carefully including a description of what was going on in the world in the different periods, giving this book a touch of historic novel without making it boring (as most historic novels are) and enriching the character of new traits by showing how she was involved with the various things happening, like wars, apartheid (the character is SouthAfrican), etc. What comes out is a very real character, with her good traits and her flaws, that the reader will love especially because it's real - but with those traits that make her just special enough to be the "heroine" of the book. Everything else that happens, involving her family, is touching, scary, often thrilling - but at the end it all evolves around her, once again, because she does have control of all areas of her life and those involved. A really fascinating book that will take you to places and times you probably never lived in before, and will make you think, too.
Book Review: A page turner Summary: 5 Stars
In this book there is a business woman that owns a diamond mining company. She's very controlling of her business and family. Axcepts nothing but her demands on them. A very excellent book. Adults or mature teenagers only must read this book.
