Book Reviews of Max The Mighty

Book Review: Zeus' Review
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm here to tell you about an excellent book that I really liked called Max the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. In this book, there are two kids named Max and Worm (real name Rachel). They run away from Rachel's stepfather, the Undertaker. He is bad because he hits and kicks Rachel's mom. Then, they choose to find Rachel's real father in Chivalry, Montana. On the way they meet some interesting people like Dippy Hippy a man that looks like Santa and wears a Hawaiian shirt. There is also a con man, you'll find out what he does in the book, but it's really bad for Max and Rachel. And finally, a nice man named Hobo Joe that helps the kids get to Montana.

This book shows some great moods throughout the book like friendship and the importance of it. An example of it is when Max really needed someone to be around because his friend Freak (Kevin) died, so he helps a girl out by dealing with a bully and made a really good friend, Rachel. Courage: Max showed that when a mountain was about to collapse on him, but he still saves someone he doesn't like, The Undertaker.

I really liked this book because it has an awesome plot that I liked, because it doesn't just stay in one place; it travels from Max's home to Chivalry, Montana on a bus, on a train, and just on bare feet. I also liked this because it wasn't really predictable and it left me thinking "What's going to happen next?" when I finished a chapter. And especially, it was very descriptive at parts and it just made the book a whole lot easier to visualize. I also very much recommend reading Freak the Mighty By Rodman Philbrick first. In conclusion, Max the Mighty is a really good book and I wish you read it and like as much as I did or more

If you were alone, all alone, how would you feel? Would you sit there all day or would you go find a friend to talk to or play with?
Maxwell Kane, the main character of Max the Mighty, finds himself stuck between a little girl and prison when the Undertaker, the little girl's evil stepfather, tells the cops that max kidnapped her.
Max is a six foot tall middle school giant who thinks he's a freak
and he hides in his basement all day. He dresses in a hoodie, a long-sleeved shirt, jeans, a hat, and sometimes a t-shirt.
One day while Max was walking home from school he saw kids teasing a little girl. He didn't want to get involved but max helps be running across the country running from the cops. Later he sees the little girl and her mom trying to get away from the Undertaker but he catches them. Little did he know that this little girl and he would soon be running across the country.
I would recommend this book to kids about 8-12 years old who like suspense. This book is about if you see someone that needs help, help out the best you can and friendships. This book was great one of the best I've ever read I'm sure you will think the same. This is a good book about an average kid who helps the best he can.
