Book Review: Amazon's price is higher than Mfr's list price! Buy elsewhere.

This is more a comment on Amazon pricing, than on the item (which looks promising):
I saw this book in a music store near my home (Wash DC metro), and the list price--as publisher-printed on the back cover--is $24.95. At the time of this review, Amazon represents the list price as $34.95, and offers a 10% "discount" to $31.49--about $6.50 over the true list price!
Since I could already play much of the material, I hoped to find it used/cheaper on Amazon . . . but it's MORE EXPENSIVE! When you click "Look Inside" and select the back cover for viewing, there's an overlaid panel with a higher price and barcode.
What I take away from this is, Amazon is being patently dishonest about showing a "markdown" from the mfr's suggested retail. Now I'm paranoid: What else do they misrepresent? (I was unable to find a "Contact Us" on the website to ask them directly . . . )
It seems like a nice book . . . buy it locally, or order it through your local seller.
