Book Review: An opulently poetic masterwork

Till Lindemann is internationally known as the singer and lyric writer for the German band Rammstein but don't make the mistake of underestimating the aesthetic value of this collection of poems just because they're in German. Sure it helps if you have an understanding of the language but what better reason could there be to start learning?! Each poem is carefully sculpted and they can just as easily tear at the heart strings as make the reader smile. They are full of rich and stimulating imagery and are penned by a truly inspired mind.
The poems are accompanied by photos of the author in the guise of a shop mannequin. As explained in the preface by Gert Hof, the compiler of this collection of poems and long-time friend of Till Lindemann, they do not necessarily illustrate the poems but they do hint at a strange and beautiful landscape conjured up them.
It's a pity poetry was never like this at school.
