Book Reviews of MessiahBook Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
As a choir student who just learned Messiah for the first time, I found this edition a wonderful work. It is not only a pleasure for Messiah purists (see review below) but also for those newly introduced to Handel's work. I loved using the Watkins Shaw Edition so much!
Book Review: Great for the uninitiated Summary: 5 Stars
I'm an avid Messiah lover, not performer. I can't vouch for this score's historical accuracy or the difficulty of the accompaniment, but I can say that it's in an easy to read format and all the parts are easy to follow. It's come in handy at Messiah sing-a-longs, both in my own living room where I'm the only participant and at actual concerts with other people. It's inexpensive, sturdy and perfectly adequate.
Book Review: Handel's Messiah - choral score Summary: 4 Stars
Copy was in lightish print , though clear and clean. back cover somewhat soiled with print "smudge" but generally a good softcover copy of the score. Excellent value.
Book Review: Inexpensive, includes measure numbers Summary: 4 Stars
It doesn't cost much, and it includes measure numbers. I don't think the Schirmer edition does.
Book Review: Messiah Summary: 5 Stars
The book was in great condition but I ordered it for overnight delivery but it didn't come for at least four days. I expected it on a Friday and it didn't arrive until the next Tuesday. I think I should receive the overnight fee as a refund.
