Book Review: Bluesguitargenius- never recorded at his best

Fabulous book - having just read A Blues Odyssey (Wyman), I think it serves as a much deeper and more interesting look at the bluesgreats of that specific postwar-period, although I miss some more pictures / photos. I would also have loved some more specifik details around Mike's technique and gear, though I think that, that part did'nt matter much for him. It is also a sad book, telling the story of a man, who's life could have been so great, he could have done so much for music (and us! - but could'nt Jimi or Stevie if they still were alive...) but instead ended in heroin, drugs and alcohol (like so many from that period - Janis, Brian, Jimi, Jim, Moon and several more). Great interviews, often partly contradicting and sometimes obviously not understanding the deadly-serious business of drugs and heroin. Hard to put down, I already miss reading it - but then I will search some more of Mike's music instead.
