Book Review: A "Star Wars" adventure with an "Indiana Jones" feel.
Summary: 5 Stars
At long last, we are told the history of the famous Millennium Falcon, which is for the first time ever the subject of a novel. It has been a long time coming, and James Luceno stays true to form with this one.
What begins for the Solos as a fun, lighthearted journey into the Falcon's past becomes a quest to find a treasure of the Old Republic of incalculable worth. Meanwhile, an old spacer intent on completing his final mission and a ruthless collector are closing in on the same target.
All in all, this was definitely written with Indiana Jones in mind. Though there are only one or two elements that pop out so blatantly as belonging to Indy films and novels, the similarities are there for those who are fans of both (though if you've never seen an Indy film you won't be missing out on any of the story). Also, the novel helps to connect the events of the recently-completed "Legacy of the Force" novel series and the upcoming "Fate of the Jedi" series while managing to be an independent story in its own right. I give five stars for this one and am eagerly awaiting the next.
