Book Review: Minnesota North Stars: History and Memories with Lou Nanne
Summary: 5 Stars
Lou Nanne's stories and perspectives were a terrific read. I especially enjoyed his stories about that greedy, unsentimental former owner Norm Green. Nanne's disdain for Green's management style comes across very clearly. Green truly ruined the franchise with his arrogance and Nanne discusses several reasons why that was the case from Green's terrible decision to change the uniforms (even though they were one of the most admired in the league) to chiding and dismissing the methods that the Detroit Red Wings used to turn around their franchise in the early 1990's (BRILLIANT NORM!!). Nanne had many other stories that ranged from sad to humorous to poignant. I highly recommend this book for any North Stars fan or for anyone who is interested in NHL history.
