Mr. Pip is set on an island. It is a narrative of events that happened there told through the eyes of a young girl. It is a wonderful read that has sent me back to re-read Great Expectations. Loved this book!! My son discovered the book by reading the first three chapters in a small give away glossy magazine called "Bit of Lit". Perhaps, in some way, this could be considered good literature. But, there is one thing it certainly ISN'T, and that is interesting. It's also not "sheer magic," as the back of the book attests. Be wary.
