Book Review: Returning to the form we know
Summary: 5 Stars
Mistral's Kiss carries on immediately from A Stroke of Midnight. Literally. The plotline has the usual sex magic which has become the norm in all Hamilton books but it caries better than the last few. The story line is sharper and more about the politics and intrigue of faerie. Something which I feared was being lost in recent times.
I didn't know how short this book was until it arrived. With Hamilton I always like a good heavy plot and this time it arrived in a small package. You might think when reading it that the first half of the book belonged in the real end of A Stroke of Midngiht with the last half being part of whatver major work comes next in the Merry Gentry series.
This book hopefully promises the return to the sharper plots of magic and intrigue those who have read early Hamilton books came to expect. I like this one. It's an improvement. I hope you find it a good read as well.
