Book Reviews of Mommy?

Book Review: Not appropriate for young children
Summary: 2 Stars

My son received this for his third birthday. Although, the pop-ups are good, there is no text so there's really nothing to read. Also, the content of the scary pictures are not appropriate for my son. Vampires, werewolves, and mummies are not something I need to explain to him yet.

Book Review: Not bad
Summary: 4 Stars

Although I think this is a weird book, my kids LOVE it. They ask to "read" it all the time. As for pop-up books go, this one has outlived every other one in the house. The spinning mummy no longer spins, but hey, it's over 4 years old (and my kids are 7 and 4 now). I have found that kids who can't read especially like it because they know what it says (same word on every page: "Mommy?"). Certainly a unique book, but fun nonetheless. If you're not sure, maybe flip through one in the bookstore before buying.

Book Review: OOOH! Mommy! What A Book!
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the best pop-up books ever! There is a surprise and delight on every page. Better get two - one for the kids and one for you!

Book Review: Poor
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this book for my 6 year old grandson. We read the book and looked at the pictures once. He was bored. I thought there would be more of a story. There is none.

I will be donating the book to the library. My grandson wants more interesting books.

Book Review: REVIEW OF MOMMY BY MAURICE SENDAK
Summary: 5 Stars

Sendak's imagination and artistic style, along with Yorinks' and Reinhart's skill and expertise with production, have resulted the most imaginative, unique, fun book I've seen in a long time! Since my (grown up) "kids" are great fans of Where the Wild Things Are from way back in their childhoods, I got copies for all of them for Halloween. Everyone who sees the book loves it, and the very intricate and complicated folding and cutting it took to make such complex pop-ups is beyond my understanding; however, it certainly adds an amazingly wonderful dimension to Sendak's book.
