Book Review: Monster
Summary: 5 Stars

Steve Harmon's black and he is in jail. He is still on trial for murder and he is sixteen years old. This book has a powerful, haunting impression. The plot is a 16 year old teenager named Steve Harmon who is in court for murdering a drug store owner. His friends like, Osvaldo Cruz and Freddy Alou are around the age 16 and they are in court with Steve for the same murder. The theme of the book is to never do something bad that will make you go to court or jail. I liked this book because on page 265 it shows his feelings about being in court. It also shows his feelings about being in jail and losing a file on court. I recommend this book to non fictional readers and people in the 7th grade and up.

Book Review: Excellent Book!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are the kind of person who likes Law & Order or CSI, this is a great book for you. Monster by Walter Dean Myers is a court room drama you should not miss. Steve Harmon, a 16 year old African-American boy, is accused of murder. This book takes the reader through the court proceedings with in-depth feelings and emotions. In the book, Steve relays, through writing, the horrifying experiences he had while in jail. There were many characters throughout the book, including Steve's friends, enemies, and inmates. I enjoyed the relationship between Steve & Jerry because every time Jerry came to visit, Steve was in a better mood. I enjoyed the way the way this book was written and would give this crime drama a 9.5 out of 10. This book is best suited for ages 13 and up. Please don't miss this amazing book of the tale of a young boy going through incredibly difficult times.

Book Review: Moster by Walter Dean Myers
Summary: 5 Stars

You're black and in jail, possibly forever. You're on trial for murder, but here's the catch, you're only 16 years old.

In the book Monster, that's just the case for 16-year-old Steve Harmon who allegedly took place in a robbery/murder as "look out". While in jail he contemplates his life and all the mistakes he has made. The fate of his life lies in the hands of the jury. I have never read faster in this epic page-turner. I loved this book both as a reader, and as an intrigued teen looking for more information about the courtroom process. This was the first book by Walter Dean Myers I've read and it certainly won't be the last. Will Steve Harmon be found innocent, or will he spend the rest of his life regretting that December day. You will have to find out for your self.

Book Review: Monster
Summary: 4 Stars

"The film will be the story of my life. No, not my life but this experience. I'll write it down in the notebook they let me keep. I'll call it what the lady who was the prosecutor called me MONSTER". Steve Harmon makes this statement while in jail talking about his trial in court. This statement showed a lot of significance to the book because if you don't read this part then you will not get what the book is talking about.

The book monster is a story about Steve Harmon and his whole trial and how he made it into a movie as it was going on. This book is extremely detailed in the fact that in the middle of the book it's telling how the camera fades into and cuts to someone, to make it more like a movie.

This book Monster really shows me what goes on in a courtroom and every part of a day in court, how serious, and dedicated the lawyers are to the clients and how scared the people who commit the crimes are. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn, or wants o know about mystery and courtroom atmospheres.
