The wrong place at the wrong time could change your life. Steve Harmon is a sixteen year old African male in the violent streets of Harlem, New York. A clerk is dead, gunned down by robbers. All the judge needs is eyes and evidence, and Steve does twenty 4five to life.
All the parts in this book are pretty good, because it leads up to the end, which is the best part, to see if Steve is guilty or not. It's crazy, because your heart starts racing, like you have to be careful what you read, like words are important at that point of the book.
This book is really about adapting to change, pressure, and experience you shouldn't be experiencing until about twenty five years old. This is how a sixteen year old saw another side of his world.
I like different, and this book has that unique. It's good because in the end everything comes together. Flashbacks are involved to make you think. In my opinion everybody would like this book, I mean everybody, from jailbirds to grandparents. I wouldn't change anything about this book.

Book Review: Monster Review Summary: 4 StarsI thought Monster was a really good book and that it's an award winning book. It was about a boy who was sent to jail for murder and was facing court for the verdict of whether he was a free man or not. It was a good book mainly because, of how it was written and the fact that it was about a 16 year old boy who was sent to prison for being accused of murder and was going to court for his freedom. His part in the "crime" or murder was to check if the store was clear so that a murder could take place. After this event he was to face the judge and tell why he was not guilty and where he was at the time of the crime. I think this is a really good book to read because, it shows what can happen if you commit a crime and what it's like to be in jail. This book is very inspiring and interesting which is why I think it is a good also the fact that it tells why you should not commit crimes and murder or steal just by reading what happened to this boy Steve Harmon.
Book Review: Monster is Summary: 5 StarsMonster by Walter Dean Myers is a realistic fiction novel. The setting of the book was taking place in Harlem, New York. The reason why I decide to read this book was because I like Walter Dean Myers as an author. The reason why I like him is because he is a great author and a good writer. Somebody had recommended this book, telling me that it is a good book and I should read it. One day, something changes Steve's whole life. What change Steve Harmon whole life is that he is sent to jail for witnessing a crime. Steve Harmon is a 16-year-old boy accused of a felon. One day something changes Steve's his whole life. He was accused of being evolved in a murder and in a robbery. What change Steve Harmon's whole life was he being sent to jail. This changed his view on life. Would it change you?
Book Review: Monster? Summary: 4 StarsMonster by Walter Dean Myers is contemporary realistic fiction novel that is written in an interesting format. I enjoyed the movie script format because it was easier to visualize the action of the novel. This book is well written and gives the reader an inside perspective of a young man in jail. The reader is given access the the main character, Steve Harmon's private thoughts and feelings through his journal enteries. Although, the book does not give a full picture of Steve Harmon as a person. The reader only knows of steven during the trial and a limited amount about him before the trial, thanks to flashback episodes. I beleive that Steven is going through a search for his true identity. He is very concerned with what people see when they look at him, but he doesn't know who he really is. Steven does not know why the prosecutor called him a moster or why his own lawyer turns away from him when he tries to give her a hug. He spends some time filming himself in order to get a better perspective. Is Steven Harmon really a monster or was he just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
