Book Review: A lovely traditional book with beautiful illustrations

I remember having a nursery rhyme book when I was a kid and I liked practicing my reading with it because there weren't too many words. This is exactly the reason I thought of putting this book in my son's Christmas stocking this year, as he's starting to recognise letters and sounds and I'm sure it won't be long before he catches onto a few words.
Having not seen this book in the flesh it's always hard to tell online if the book is going to live up to expectations but I can say I am really pleased with it. The pictures are lovely (from Axel Scheffler, from Gruffalo and such books) and I'm sure my son will cherish this book as much as I did mine. It has all the traditional rhymes mine did and a story from Mother Goose running through it which is a nice touch.
A definate must for any child who likes books.
