Book Review: You ain't seen nothing yet!

If you thought that Led Zeppelin's 'Hammer of The Gods' or Aerosmith's 'Walk This Way' was the Bible of literary rock excess, you were wrong. This tale of drugs, sex and rock n' roll with extra helpings of drugs and sex is unnervingly unpleasant but ultimately unput-downable.With the aid of ghost writer Neil Strauss, the world's "most notorious rock band" regale us with tales of nailing ears to tables, touring jails across the globe, signing record deals with construction workers and the temporary death of bassist Nikki Sixx. Despite some murmurings of regret over their misogyny, the group come across as arrogant yet buffoonish caricatures, provoking sympathy and contempt from the reader; the death of singer Vince Neil's daughter being the one true example of the former.
Although this is by no means a literary masterpiece - aiming for the crotch rather than the brain - this book delivers an anecdote to treasure on every page. Just don't use it as an instruction manual.
