Book Review: Lee Bridgers Slant on Mountain Biking in Moab

This is more than a route guide. It is also a good read! Lee Bridgers shares his anecdotes and opinions about the area and its local inhabitants gained while starting and running a MTB holiday company. He does not pull any punches!The routes have overall and turn-by-turn descriptions; combined with terrain, gradient and seasonal information. A bike computer would be helpful as mileages are used. A lot of detail is provided but the actual route guides are brief enough to make photocopying/copying-out easy.
Photographs and illustrations are not in colour. I thought that the book was well organised and easy to search for specifics or interesting to browse.
This is no bland, "feel-good" travel guide. Mr. Bridgers is opinionated and will probably raise a few hackles. I felt that whether it was wading through a confusion of tracks in the spoil heaps of a copper mine or screaming down the descent from Porcupine Rim, his book added to my enjoyment of this fantastic area.
