I'll go on and say some of this could be spoilery. I love the Monk series and I have read all the books, but I had the same problem with this one that I had with Mr. Monk and the Two Assistants. The conclusion at the end didn't seem to fit. When the other cases were solved I thought, "Yes. That makes sense." For these two, it just didn't. There seemed to be so little evidence given until the very end and then a case has to be made and there's no wrestling with "I wonder if this guy did it," or "I wonder if that guy did it." Sometimes, I think the humor aspect is emphasized at the cost of the mystery aspect. A good Monk mystery needs both.
Now will you enjoy this if you're a Monk fan? Yeah. I did. I just thought that the conclusion seemed forced and I did not see myself being drawn into the case. I much more preferred "Mr. Monk in Outer Space."
