Book Reviews of Mrs. Piggle-WiggleBook Review: A wonderful magical book Summary: 4 Stars
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is a great book. The author is Betty MacDonald. The book is about a lady who is magic. She goes to kids and all the kids have a problem with manners. Some are bad listeners, whiners, and so on. It is a fantasy story.
The big part of the story is when Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle starts helping out all the children with bad manners. For each kid with bad manners she has a cure. She loves to play pretend and be funny. All the kids, after she cured them, had wonderful imagination and have proper manners. Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is always happy and loves children.
I recommend this book to all kids six years old to kids that are nine years old, also to people who love humor and Fantasy. This book will boost the kid's imagination after they read the book. This book is full of humor. It was a great book to me and hopefully to you!!
Book Review: An Excellent Book for All Children Summary: 4 Stars
I first read these books when I was young. While some of the themes may at first seem outdated for todays generation, the lessons that these books teach span all ages and cultures. Every parent has had a situation with one of their children that resembles one of these stories. Children can get a laugh out of the lighthearted humor, and still learn valuable lessons about their behavior and about right etiquette.
Book Review: Common Sense and Cures Summary: 5 Stars
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, a lovable grandmotherly type, visits homes and "cures" kids of bad habits, such as talking back and refusing to go to bed, using insight and common sense. Think Mary Poppins with reverse psychology if you must, but I'll take Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle any day.
The Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle stories are hilarious and simply great to read aloud. I recommend them to parents all of the time, as they help readers address their own bad habits and encourage families to work together to be more respectful, responsible, organized, and helpful.
Book Review: DID THIS BRING BACK MEMORIES! Summary: 5 Stars
I am 32 years old and I also read this book when I was about 7 or 8 years of age; my mother got it for me at the library. My mother recently passed away; and memories of my childhood resurfaced. I was discussing this book to a girlfriend of mine, telling her how my mother used to read it to me and how we would laugh at the stories. I found and purchased on Amazon.com (Thank god for this site)! Get this book for your children! It has great stories, for parent and child. (My personal favorite is about the 3 kids who never want to go to bed)! Although I do not have any children, I have a niece and nephew who I will read this to. I think I'll get Ramona the Pest and Curious George next! :)
Book Review: Don't want to eat, bathe, go to bed or comb your hair? Summary: 5 Stars
For every problem every parent and child has faced over the years, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle has a magnificent solution that will surpass the iterventions of Dr. Spock, Supernanny, or even Dr. Phil!
The characters are so wonderful and the stories so creatively written that children will be spellbound by these books. Even non-readers will be captivated.
Wonderful reading!
