Book Review: Gives a fairly good insight into life under the Taliban

Latifa, who grew up in Afghanistan under the Taliban Regime, gives a fairly good insight into the horrors that women had to endure under the Taliban. However having had such a good grounding on Afghanistan and the Taliban in the media recently I feel as if MY FORBIDDEN FACE has not added much to my understanding of the miserable circumstances for women under the Taliban. Due to the style of this book I rather felt as if it had been written by an outside observer rather than a person who actually had to live in this country throughout the Taliban Ruling.
I would recommend reading this book if you haven't had the chance to follow the news during the September 11 attack and the aftermath.
