Book Reviews of My Many Colored DaysBook Review: Beautiful book for babies, too! Summary: 5 StarsI bought the board book edition for our son, who was five months old at the time, and it consistently holds his attention. The text is simple and the beautiful illustrations are reminiscent of Chagall. He's too young for the classic Seuss books, which we also have, but this is one sturdy and lovely book that he can hold, look at and even chew and taste! It fascinates him and should keep him enthralled for some time. I'd have to say it's his favorite book so far.
Book Review: My Many Colored Days Summary: 5 StarsThis is another one of Dr. Seuss's many great books. He talks about that on different days, you can be different. Each of the different days has a different color. At the end it says some days you can be everything, but not to worry because you will always be you. I like this book because of the combination of colors, feelings and animals all in one. Dr. Seuss always does a great job at keeping the children interested through out the book
Book Review: Why are brown and black bad things? Summary: 2 StarsMy two-year-old daughter does enjoy this book. But as she gets older, I wonder about explaining to her why black and brown have such negative connotations. She's Carribean, you see, and brown herself. Parents with children of color may want to think that through before purchasing this book.
Book Review: A Seuss of a Different Color Summary: 3 StarsThis is a pleasant, quick, lyrical read for young children, but I wouldn't call it a great book. Dr. Seuss has given us plenty of those, so his reputation need not depend on this posthumous publication.
Book Review: Great! Summary: 5 StarsThis is such a great book to help kids talk about their moods and emotions. :)
