Book Reviews of My Sister's Keeper: A NovelBook Review: My sister's keeper - Brilliant! Summary: 5 StarsI have just finished this book and loved it! A very believable plot this book follows 7 characters as the try to find the right solution to a very difficult situation.I loved the fact that each character gets their own chapter as we follow two weeks in their lives it is such an ingenious way to write a book.
Book Review: Should have read the reviews Summary: 5 StarsThen maybe I woudlnt have ended up sobbing on the train, had to keep closing the book to compose myself a bit before reading on at the end. Excellent book
Book Review: This book deals with a fascinating ethical dilema.... Summary: 3 StarsI was utterly engrossed while I read it in about 3 days.
I really felt for young Anna, but as a mother, I could also understand why the parents felt they had to do what they did.
The reason I've only given the book three stars is because although I thoroughly enjoyed it WHILE I was actually reading it, the ending left me feeling like the victim of a confidence trickster.
I enjoy a good cry sometimes, so I'm definitely not advocating that every book should have a hollywood ending, but this ending just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Read Salem Falls. It's better in my opinion. It is also an extremely interesting subject; a modern day witch hunt. But the ending is smoother, which made me remember the book as a whole more appreciatively.
Book Review: didn't want this book to ever end Summary: 5 StarsKnew I would love it because of the subject mstter. What an amazing book. Wish I'd written it!! All the characters are so believable, and you feel for them all in this dreadful predicament. Didn't want this book to ever end. Well done Judi, what a book.
Book Review: A Fantastic Read Summary: 5 StarsThis book has a moral dilemma at it's core, should a 13 year old girl donate a kidney to help her sick sister? All told from the point of view from the young girl, her parents, brother, and various other characters. You get some chapters (all told from one persepective) overlapping. You often get the story repeated, but from a different point of view. I wish I had known just how emotional it was. I sat up late on a few nights and just thought I'd finish it on the bus to work ....big mistake. What a twist. What a book. I had never read this author's work before but I will be making a beeline for her work in future. A must read.
