I am so thankful that I only borrowed this from my library,and did not order it,thanks to the advice of the reviewers here who explaned how unscriptural/uninspiring this version is.
I agree with their views totally! I wouldn't have this in my collection,if it was given to me!
Reading this,you feel like it was written by an 'unbeliever'! Makes me wonder what John Drane's book "The Bible Fact or Fantatasy,must be like,but there are no reviews here for that one,and as it is only about 150 pages,and from his cold/detached handling of the info in this book,I'd say,one can have a pretty good idea of where he stands.
I just received my ordered copy of the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary today,and cannot wait to curl up with it.It's a great buy at $20 for 1,700 some pages too!
At least the Bible is endearingly called the sacred scriptures in the editorial,not just "one of the world's great classics" as it's called in Drane's Encyclopedia of the Bible.
If you are a Christian,who was hoping for a loving treatment of the book you love,and vast amounts of useful information,do not expect to find it here.
