Book Review: A fascinating work

The only criticism I have - and there is only one - is that the book turns into a thesis on the Book of Revelation half way through, and then follows a fairly contemporary suggestion of the portended events contained in its eschatological prophecies, loosely referring to his theories regarding the Nephilim. I would've preferred to have seen more substance and body given to his thesis first; it came across as an overview of the subject, albeit a detailed and competent one.

In spite of this, however, I'd still recommend the book. It throws up a lot of valid questions and sheds light on a poorly-regarded subject in modern theology, namely the Nephilim and their fallen angel progenitors.

Heron quotes accurately and relevantly from the Bible to underline some of his well thought-out points and also - to my delight - includes sections from the Book of Enoch, an ancient reference to the fallen angels and the Nephilim's appearance in history. Although not included in the canon of scripture, the book of Jude nevertheless refers to the Book of Enoch, demonstrating its influence on the early Apostles.

I applaud Heron for his work. Even with my criticism, it's worth reading. To my knowledge, there's nothing written with the same research and authority as Patrick Heron's book. I hope this will spawn many more studies and works to unearth more about the Nephilim and to educate us in a valid counter-theory to the Theory of Evolution and lend academic credence to Noah's Flood and a creationist view of history.
