Book Reviews of Never Fade Away: The Kurt Cobain StoryBook Review: Good Enough.... Summary: 4 StarsAlthough I have read this book nearly two and a half years ago, I still thought I would review it from what I could remember. It was good enough, yet I found the author rambled on about other things Seattle-based to take up room in the book, I suppose. From what the book portrayed to be- about the death and surrounding circumstances, he talked a little bit about Cobain's life leading up to his fatal death in April of 1994.
Book Review: It is a fair book Summary: 3 StarsThis book displays only the main points of the history of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. I feel that it was a good book to read, if you have the time, but "Cobain" or "Come As You Are" would be wiser choices.
Book Review: Typical quickie bio needing a grain of salt. Summary: 3 StarsThis was an easy read, but when I learned more about Nirvana and Kurt I learned that there were plenty of errors. It's another of those bios that's mainly, but not entirely, based on other articles and books. Many of the incidents recounted are highly contested rumors.
Book Review: S'okay Summary: 3 StarsIf you've already read "Come As You Are," skip this book. This book is a rather abridged version and it doesn't reveal anything new. In fact, you feel like the writer copied Azerrad's story word for word. It's not the best book written on Nirvana, but then again, it doesn't try to be. While I applaud the author's honest portrayal of the band, it's hard to ignore how much Azerrad's book is better. On the other hand, if you're ever doing a research paper on Nirvana, this is a nice addition to pad your bibliography
