Book Reviews of Neverwhere

Book Review: A Wonderful World from a Magical Mind
Summary: 5 Stars

I found out about this book from the Sandman and Neil Gaimanwebsite which links in to Amazon.

"Neverwhere" is a wonderful world, a magical adventure under the streets of London. It's like Gaiman's Narnia.

What is so cool about Gaiman and this book is the number of things he can do. "Sandman" was a big glittering sad weird story. "Neverwhere" is a romp, a mad tongue in cheek wander under the streets of London. "Smoke and Mirrors" Gaiman's new short story collection (which I also bought from Amazon) is like a huge mad box of chocolates, with every story a different kind of thing.

I hate to think what the world must look like from inside his head. But meanwhile I'm just grateful he is out there making the world more weird and magical for the rest of us.

Book Review: A bit disappointing
Summary: 2 Stars

Being a loyal Terry Pratchett-fan I thought I'd read a book written by the co-author of Good Omens. I have to admit that Gaiman's style is rather original and the plot is quite good as well... yet his writing style was not as imaginitative as I had imagined. I finished the book and was left with an unsatisfied feeling.

Book Review: A bit overated
Summary: 3 Stars

The characters were very unique and the setting straight out of a child's dream, but overall the book was slow. I felt it lacked that crucial element that makes a book into a "book you can't put down". Perhaps I just expected too much, reading all those great reviews. So judge for yourself - give it a try.

Book Review: A clasics
Summary: 5 Stars

Probably the best urban fantasy novel I read. It might have gotten slightly old by now, but the spirit remains as fresh as it ever was. When I was reading it for the first time, the ending really made me think about where my life was going.
An absolute must for all young corporate associates and office rats.

Book Review: A classic!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has it all! A spell-binding plot; fully realized characters; evil villains; comic relief; an ordinary man on a journey of self-discovery; it has the works!

London Below is a fascinating world, fully populated by interesting characters and believable situations. You will never look at the London Underground in the same way after reading this book!

This story is destined to become a classic, so read it already!
