Book Review: Riveting Summary: 5 Stars
Here's an adventure tale that will keep you turning the pages long after your bedtime, maneuvering with young Nicholas McIver through treacherous waters off the coast of England in 1939 and 1805. Even when our hero and his endearing little sister are enveloped in a pea soup fog, the narrative is crisp and clear. While other maritime adventures get tangled in creaking verbosity, here the taut lines sing. The clarity of the prose makes this complex plot accessible even to reluctant readers. Chapters leave you dangling from the yardarms straining for a glimpse of what comes next. The squeamish might cringe at some details in the battle scenes, but those few gruesome images quickly give way to the triumph of good over evil. Add this finely crafted adventure yarn to your list of books for pre-teens and middle schoolers. It's good, clean fun for grown-ups too.

Book Review: SWEPT AWAY IN THE PAGES -- GREAT FOR KIDS! Summary: 5 Stars
What a fabulous book for young boys and girls (9-15) and adults too! I gave this book to my grandson for summer reading, and he really doesn't like to read. But this book has captured his imagination. When he puts it down, I pick it up and read a few chapters ahead so I can encourage him with little hints of what's to come. Believe me, the book is fascinating reading for kids and adults. Without preaching, it teaches respect, self confidence, courage, and a whole lot of wonderful history too. You will not be disappointed in this book. I hope Ted Bells writes many more like it!
