Book Reviews of Night Magic

Book Review: Just couldn't get into it
Summary: 1 Stars

I wanted to love this novel, but I just could not make myself finish reading it. Something just didn't work for me and for some reason I found the Christine Daae character to be really annoying and unrealistic for a teenager, even one who lived in the late 60s early 70s.

I personally would not recomend it. If you want to read a Beauty and the Beast story, I would recommend "Beastly" by Alex Finn.

Book Review: Magificence in every sense!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The sheer erotic nature of Erik and Marisa's love are in full bloom for all to see and I, personally, thank the author for such exotic literature. Never have I ever read another book and found it worthy of my time as this one. Charlotte Vale Allen's love for the Phantom is equal to mine and I even venture to say that she should write the screenplay for a movie based on this book. "Night Magic" is worth the effort to place on the movie screen so that the world will love Erik for ages to come. Thank you Charlotte, and thank you Erik!

Book Review: Night Disaster!
Summary: 1 Stars

What an awful take on the classic Phantom of the Opera! I am not even going to trouble myself to speak in polished language when writing this review, for by sounding like a ditz I can better give vent to my dismay at this terrible story. Obviously the only motive Charlotte had in writing this book was the money, since the publishing date of Night Magic was 1989, right in midst of the Phantom Mania caused by Webber's musical released in '86. Well, cashing in is a cheap incentive for an author, and this book shows just how little effort was put into its actual potential to please. The entire story sag under the ability of an incapable author (Colloquial language in comparison would be philisophically superior!), indeed, Allen sounded no more sophisticated than a sixteen year old taking a stab at fame, a sixteen year old with a sick imagination, that is. The suspense of the entire book depends on when the characters engage in fleshy intercourse that is most vivdly described...no worth whatsoever in this horrific blotch of pornographic read intended for those who want no higher satisfication than to be aroused in a beastly, economic way. This is possibly the most degrading and shameful piece of writing that ever made it to the market...but then again, Charlotte vale Allen was a cabaret dancer before she wrote this, so what can you expect?

Book Review: Night Magic is a gem
Summary: 5 Stars

This book leaps to life....Charlotte Vale Allen stuns me with Night Magic....that love recognizes no boundaries....not age, not looks, not even death. I applaud Charlotte loudly for this exceptional fairy tale book. It is the best book I've ever read!

Book Review: Not what I expected
Summary: 2 Stars

Personally I did not enjoy reading this book. The story was in almost no way related to Phantom of the Opera, Erik did not show genius like qualities that I have seen in other Phantom books, and the couple didn't seem interested in each other as people they only seemed to want sex. I really don't reccomend this book to Phantom Phans looking for a differnt version of the classic story.
