Book Reviews of Nights in Rodanthe

Book Review: I enjoyed Nights In Rodanthe and felt it was the short story I needed.
Summary: 4 Stars

After having read four of Nicholas Sparks' other books I have come to realize that I need to have no expectations when starting one of his books. I have loved some of his books and have been disappointed with others at the same time. I felt that Nights In Rodanthe was the book I needed after having finished the book Stargirl, which is for a younger group. Although Sparks does not delve into the connection between Adrienne and Paul as much as his reader would like, I do believe he did so with a purpose. The story of their love is told by Adrienne to her daughter Amanda, who is still struggling with the death of her husband. I believe Sparks meant for Adrienne's own experiences with love and losing those you love to help her daughter Amanda move on and realize that you just have to continue on in life and that life does not just stop once one person is gone. Readers must look at the bigger picture that the book creates and not just the love story that helps create that bigger picture.

Book Review: Loved It
Summary: 5 Stars

What more can I say then I loved this book! The characters are wonderful and full of life. The story pulls you right in and keeps you turning the pages until the very end. You will not be sorry you read this story.
If you like Sparks or are a fan...this is a MUST read!!

Book Review: My First Sparks Novel
Summary: 4 Stars

This is the first Nicholas Spark novel I have read. I've seen the movie version of "The Notebook" (one of my favorite movies) and "Nights in Rodanthe", which I enjoyed. I saw this book selling for fifty cents at a used book store and figured I'd give it a try, as usually the book is better than the movie.

I was surprised at how quickly I read through this book. I haven't read a fiction book in a long time and found myself inspired to pick it up two nights in a row. I probably finished it in about 4 or 5 hours.

Even though it wasn't all that deep, I really enjoyed it. And though I knew the ending before I even picked up the book, tears flowed freely at the end (I did however, like the ending of the movie better. The scene where she sits waiting for him after cooking an amazing meal was so sad and I was really surprised at the ending.)

I liked it enough that I want to read more of Spark's novels. I am definitely going to read another one very soon.

Book Review: Nights in Rodanthe
Summary: 5 Stars

Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author. I loved this book, as I have loved all his other books. I read this years ago when it first came out and lent my copy to a friend and never got it back. So this purchase was a replacement to "round out" my collection.

I know a lot of work goes into writing a book, but I wish Nicholas Sparks could write faster :o) I love his style ... each book is so different, but also, so excellent. So many of his books have been made into movies ... that says a lot about his skill as a story teller.

Just waiting for his next book ~

Book Review: Nights in Rodanthe
Summary: 1 Stars

I could not finish this book. It was too predictable and the characters had no depth. The writing style is boring to put it mildly.
