Book Reviews of No Biting!Book Review: Great learning tool Summary: 5 Stars
My 19-month old son can't get enough of this book. He loves it. He was a slow talker, but this book helped him to say new words. He took pride in the fact that he knew all the answers before we lifted the flaps! The book is simple and holds toddlers' attention well too. I'd highly recommend it.
Book Review: It all began with "No Biting" Summary: 2 Stars
Unfortunately, my experience with this book was not so positive. My hope was that this book would be a great tool to help my almost 2 year old curb his new biting habit. Instead, the book introduced him to numbers of other negative behaviors, such as kicking our cats, "trying" to spit at me, etc. Needless to say, I was disappointed.
Book Review: It cured my biting toddler! Summary: 5 Stars
One day I got that dreaded phone call from my daughter's day care. She'd bitten another child. It happened again the next day. We tried time-outs, discussions, and lavishing attention on the victim. We thought the biting had stopped, but a month later, she did it again--hard enough to break the skin! We did not know what we could do to make her stop biting, until we found this book. It is ideally suited to a toddler (1-3 years old). It is short and simple so toddlers understand it. The illustrations are bright and colorful to hold a toddler's attention. Also, the book offer kids positive suggestions. (No biting our friends, but we can bite apples!) Overall, our toddler loves it, and she hasn't bitten anyone lately, so the message must be getting through.
Book Review: Misleading title Summary: 3 Stars
This book addresses many issues, not just biting. We are trying to help my son refrain from biting as well as from being bitten at daycare. Its an over all great book and my son loves the pictures but its not solely about biting.
Book Review: My son asks to read it! Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very simple to understand book that my two year old really seems to "get". I have noticed a decrease in hitting and biting. My only (small) complaint is some of the bad habits address specific people such as Don't spit on your brother but it is easy enough to review all the people we don't spit on, etc. A very enjoyable book that he asks to read at bedtime!
