Book Reviews of No, David!

Book Review: A Unique Children's Book
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great book to read to young children. I have read it to my brother who is 2 many times and now he can "read" it to me. David's illustrations fit the story perfect. It is very unique and it's simplicity makes it ideal for any child. The message it convey's is simple, No matter how much a child can get in trouble, they will always be loved!

Book Review: A chance to see the word NO as funny!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was shocked to see the recommended age for this book beginning at 4! I am a daycare provider for 7 two-year-olds and they beg to have this book read to them. They recognize the picture and can repeat the simple phrases. I can add additional words to each page to explain why he is making unsafe choices, or ask the children to explain why David's Mom says, "No, David." The best part is seeing a two-year-old sit down to read the book to him/her self and be so totally involved that the book is never torn up!

Book Review: A classroom FAVORITE!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

My students this year and last (I've only been teaching 2 years) have been absolutely entranced and enamored by this book. I am still giggling a little bit over other's misinterpretations of this story. Try this book, especially if you have a five year old, because it never gets old for my kindergarten class. Every child can relate to David on some level. It reinforces the concept of unconditional love, what could be better?

Book Review: A favorite for my 2 and 4 year old boys!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is definitely my kid's favorite book!! We have read it so many times that they have it memorized and take turns now 'reading' it to me! I think it is a must-have for every parent of pre-schoolers.

Book Review: A great book for kids-- good or bad!
Summary: 5 Stars

I first thought that this book would only be a hit with kids under five, and was surprised when my first graders loved it. David Shannon's colorful and unique illustrations make this book extremely appealing. David's looks definitely mirrored his behavior, but none of the children found the pictures scary. This book is great for emphasizing the difference between good and bad behavior. It shows children that no matter how frustrated they make their parents or teachers, they are still loved. A great lesson!
