Book Reviews of No, David!

Book Review: A great book of kids of all ages!
Summary: 5 Stars

My mother, sister and I were at a book fair at my niece's school, when we spotted No, David. We laughed so hard, we were in tears. Those eyes! Those teeth! That attitude! Who couldn't fall in love with that mischievous child?

The following day, my 7 year old niece was raving about the very same book! I have yet to meet a person who wasn't crazy about David. I guess it's because we're all a little bit like him. A classic!

Book Review: A lesson learned
Summary: 5 Stars

No, David, written by David Shannon was a 1999 Caldecott award winner. The book is a tale of a young, mischievous boy. The boy's troubles range from coloring on the walls, playing with his food, and running down the street naked. His mother is constantly scolding his behavior throughout the book. Through her scolding, however, David's mother affirms her love for him, as showed in the end of the story. After all the trouble David has gotten into, he is still loved. I think that is an excellant lesson for children to learn. Parents and teachers may not always be happy with their behavior, but they still care and love the child. It is a hard lesson for children to learn, that as much as they "screw up" they are still loved unconditionaly. I think this would be an excellant story to read to foster children.

Book Review: A picture book you'll want to read aloud
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is funny and enlightening. The pictures are very eye-catching and the kid you read it to won't fall asleep on you. When they ask you to read it for the millionth time, you won't be groaning because its just too funny.

Book Review: A wonderful book to share with your own "David"
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book for my 5 year old David (who can be as trying as the David of this book), and he loves it! The print is large, the sentences, short, and most of the words easy for a beginning reader. My family and friends all think it's highly amusing, especially my 18 year old daughter! I'd recommend this book for any child.
