Book Reviews of No, David!

Book Review: AWESOME first reading book!
Summary: 5 Stars

My four-year-old twin boys read this book over and over again! They recite the "No, David!" story in the car, in the store, in the tub, and just about any other place! Every child (and adult!) can relate to this story...we've ALL been David! It's a wonderful book for teaching kids to read and recognize words. I have recommended this book to all of my friends with preschool age children.

Book Review: An adorable little story!
Summary: 5 Stars

My mother in law sent this book to my husband (David) for his birthday. She said he mut have heard her say "No, David" a million times during his childhood and she thought the story was cute. My husband loved receiving this gift from her.

My own kids really enjoy this story, too. Even the older ones like to read it to their younger siblings.

The little boy in the story does all sorts of things he shouldn't do and gets into all sorts of trouble, but the ending is very sweet.

Book Review: An incredibly accurate portrayal of a 3-year-old's antics
Summary: 5 Stars

As a mother of a three-year old named David, this book's title was an obvious eye-catcher for me. And reading this amusing and incredibly true-to-life portrayal of a pre-schooler's misadventures was like watching a day in my own life. All the negatives the beleaguered mother says to little David have all come from my mouth. This is a great picture book, even in its primitive style...and very funny in its accuracy. I recommend it for any parent of a "challenging" child...even if their name isn't David

Book Review: At first I was excited...
Summary: 3 Stars

I was really excited when I first purshased this book on Amazons website. The artwork I thought was a little too rough for a two year old. I like the idea but I didn't feel there was enough positive reinforcement in it. I showed it to mom who is Montessori Teacher and she disliked it. She wouldn't added it to her room collection. I would make sure you really reinforce that you still love your child even though they may do things we do not LOVE!

Book Review: Best Children's Book Ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

I heard great reviews of this book back when I was student teaching. So, I checked it out one day while I was at the library. I read it to my Pre-K class and THEY LOVED IT!!! The "David" books are pretty much the only ones they truly enjoy and listen to. Practically all 21 of them memorized the book word for word after I read it the first time. I was worried that some of the kids would pick up David's mischievous behavior, but they all pointed out how David was a "bad" boy who made excuses. They, thankfully, knew NOT to act like David. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.
