Book Reviews of No, David!Book Review: Best book for 2 year olds Summary: 5 Stars
This book is wonderful for children around 2, i buy it for all kids around this age... they are starting to exercise the word "no" and relate to David. The pictures are cute, and the book is not too verbose. My niece used to sleep with this book, she loved it so much.
Book Review: Buy David! Summary: 5 Stars
Oh, you HAVE to get this book! Especially for a baby shower! Pretty funny stuff here. I bought this for my little one age 4 and he won't let me put it down at night. I have to read this thing at least 4-5 times nightly, along with our other "David" book. The words are very, very simplistic, mostly consisting of "no" and "David" but it shows that although David is very ornery, his mother will always love him. A very good, simplistic message, one that kids love everywhere. A literary work of art it is not, but the message is quite excellent. My little one likes to say, "I've done that!" throughout the whole book so kids have a great time relating to David's antics. My particular favorite is David running down the street naked. Pretty funny stuff!
This is a very cute book, one that belongs in everyone's library and it is highly recommended! Don't forget about this book for your next baby shower gift!
Book Review: Buy this book, then FRAME IT! It's a work of art. Summary: 5 Stars
The illustrations in this book are above extraordinary and reason enough to purchase it. I bought it for myself! But, besides the artwork, as a mother of four - almost all grown - boys, I've had to say no a few times. It's nice to see, somebody else's kid acted like mine and he seems to have turned out alright! (Since the book is a rework of David Shannon's earlier work - done by himself at the age of five - I feel pretty safe in assuming this book is autobiographical!) David Shannon - hats off to your mother!
Book Review: Charms Children Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 4 years old and has fallen in love with the humor of No David! His preschool teacher says when she reads No David! the kids can't wait until the page where David forgets his clothes. A real laugh track in a group setting. From an early literacy point of view, the limited words and strong connection between the pictures and words, will help young children take their first step towards reading.
