Book Review: Sloppy work

This is a message I sent to Ann rule recently about "No Regrets."
Over the years, I have read every book you have published. I have just finished "The Sea Captain" in No Regrets, and must take you to task for some errors that are quite unforgivable for someone with your apparent knowledge and experience.
On page 104, you refer to a "Winchester .22 Magnum rifle.....which had eleven live rounds in the chamber." Not possible. Perhaps eleven rounds in the magazine, but only one in the chamber.
On the same page, you refer to a "30-06 shotgun, and at least two dozen boxes of bullets, ranging from .22s to 30-06 for a shotgun." There is no such thing as a 30-06 shotgun. The '30-06 is a rifle cartridge.
On the same page, you state of the .38 Smith & Wesson" "Its barrel would also be compared to the land and grooves on any bullet casings they might find." Not possible. A casing never enters the barrel and therefore would show no evidence of the lands and grooves.
On page 122, you remark, "...estimating it was noon in Ohio (3:00 P.M. in Washington State) when her aunt called her." Now, unless the earth has taken to turning in the opposite direction, I think noon in Ohio would be 9 a.m. in Washington.
Quite frankly, I have been a great fan--and will continue to be--but I just find such inaccuracies--no, impossibilities--to be sloppy research and writing and a real detraction from your work. Do you have a less knowledgeable ghost writing your books for you, like Stephen Ambrose ended up doing?????
