This is a must for anyone who understands the value of Nutritional supplements. You will soon see that they are not all manufactured the same and most will never deliver the health benefits you are looking for. This book will show you those who are heads above the rest.
Book Review: Choose QUALITY Vitamins Summary: 5 Stars
As a family physician who regularly recommends nutritional supplements to promote health and wellness, I am really impressed with the quality and quantity of information presented in this book. I particularly appreciate the creation of a "Blended Standard" benchmark that incorporated the expertise of a panel of clinicians and researchers. Although the writing shows thorough research and understanding of science, both consumers and health care providers will find the book useful and easy to read. THANK-YOU Mr MacWilliams for a great book!
Book Review: Comparative Guide Rocks! Summary: 5 Stars
Back in 2001, I was given a loaner copy of the Comparative Guide. I read all the science used in the evaluation of the supplements profiled, and became a USANA customer. Then, in 2002, after becoming a USANA distributor, I met Lyle MacWilliam, the author. I asked him, "Why Did you Put USANA in the book?" He told me that the founder of USANA, Dr. Myron Wentz, had seen a prior issue, which did not include USANA, and asked Lyle to evaluate USANA's Essentials. In the next issue, USANA was ranked #1 and has been ever since! I use the Guide to help other skeptics understand why some vitamins are better than others. I also use it to help find alternatives for those who cannot take USANA, for whatever reason. Don't let the other companies' reps scare you away from this book. You will learn so much about your body and its need for powerful supplements, and what companies you can trust. I trust this book, the science behind it and the information about the companies profiled.
Book Review: Consumer Guide to Nutritional Supplements Summary: 5 Stars
Finally, an independent review of the Nutritional supplements! Too many people have been spending hard earned money on different supplements, and now they can make an objective comparison based on objective, quality information. It is the Consumer Guide to Supplements.
It is amazing though that only 4 companies are really any good - all the others are finally being recognized for what they are - garabage.
Great reference book - we use it in our practices all the time.
Thanks!
Book Review: Do you what your putting in your body with those 'vitamins' Summary: 4 Stars
I heard about this book over a year ago and was fascinated. Recently my husband and I realized that we needed to start taking some multi vitamins and like a good wife I refused to buy anything off of your regular grocery or pharmacy shelf, knowing from this book and some medical practitioners that most of those products are of poor quality and don't add much to your diet unless you plan on eating the whole bottle everyday, never mind the potential toxins.
The only difficulty with finding the perfect multi vitamin is cost. Make sure you do a lot of price research into the vitamins you might potentially choose. We found a great price online for the item we chose. It is more than half of the SRP and we're now on our way to healthier selves.
My only issue with the book is it near exclusive to multi-vitamins, which makes it difficult to choose other supplements like omega 3-6-9. We didn't go with a standard brand for that either, but it's important to be wary of purchasing from the same brand too. The reviews in the book show that not all products from the same brand are ranked alike.
