Book Reviews of Olive, My LoveBook Review: Olive the Dog Summary: 4 Stars
I have Olive the other Reindeer and wanted to get my son an Olive book for valentine's day. This book is cute although a little longer than I was expecting. It is a little bit strange but I would recommend it. It has a good message and is fun. I like the Christmas book better though.
Book Review: Seibold Does It Again! Summary: 5 Stars
My niece loves this book and so do I! This is a wonderful story about teamwork and friendship. If you like Olive the Other Reindeer, then you will also like this story featuring Olive, Dexter the Flying Dog and other friends. I am a big fan of Seibold's illustrations and love all the little details.
Book Review: Very little appeal Summary: 1 Stars
This book was a gift and that is the only reason i am not returning it. The story is bizarre, which in and of itself is not bad but this is...bad. Luckily my daughter found it as painful as i did to read. Zero appeal on any level. If you want great bizarre try "Heedly pecked me in the eye"!
Book Review: a fun sequel to Olive the other Reindeer Summary: 3 Stars
In this charming Valentine's Day story, Olive, last seen helping Santa in Olive the other Reindeer, receives a giant heart from her friend Dexter the flying dog. Thinking he dropped the heart by mistake, Olive goes to great lengths to return it, helped along the way by an enterprising squirrel and a clever spider. When Olive discovers the heart was meant for her, the four friends enjoy a delightful picnic featuring bon bons, nuts, biscuits, and fly wings (which everyone except the spider is mysteriously "allergic" to). Featuring the same striking graphic design as in Olive the Other Reindeer, generated on the computer in Adobe Illustrator, the flat, whimsical illustrations add immensely to the story. The color palette features pinks, reds, and other traditional Valentine's Day colors. This story celebrates love and friendship and is a good match for Valentines Day storytimes or any storytime featuring love and friendship. Highly recommended for children four through eight.
