Book Review: Choppy writing. Hard to get into it.

I have read many books about firefighting - both fiction and non-fiction. Having been a firefighter for 10 years and located with close proximity to New York, I have particular interest in books written by members of the FDNY. I'm 25 pages into this book and can't go on anymore. It is by far the most poorly written and poorly organized book I have read on the topic of firefighting.
Spending twenty years as a firefighter in NYC opens you up to a world of stories about fires, rescues, and the everyday life around the firehouse. It is a shame that these stories cannot be conveyed properly in this book. The author uses extremely short sentences and never expresses the emotion that should be shown in some of the stories.
