Book Reviews of Once Upon a Potty -- Boy

Book Review: Got the point across quickly
Summary: 5 Stars

This book worked well for giving my son the idea of going potty. Best of all, he found the part where Joshua was trying to figure out what the potty was for very humerous so he wanted to read it often. I agree with others about the terms used, but since he can't read, I just substituted the words I preferred. The author gets across the point that sometimes it takes time to learn and also time to sit on the potty, and I think this really helped my son. I highly recommend it.

Book Review: Great Books
Summary: 5 Stars

My Son loves this book. We had gotten the Book for girls at a yard sale and he constantly looked at that book. We love the one for boys just as much. He seems to relate to this book. He shows me the page and tells me all about it while he sits on the potty.

Book Review: Great Seller
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchased a book "Once Upon a Potty - Boy". The book was in great condition and was delivered in timely manor. Thank YOU! My son loves the book.

Book Review: Great for sitting on the potty
Summary: 4 Stars

Great for sitting with your little guy and encourage him to do his thing. I was a little disappointed in the slang name for the anatomy -"pee-pee".

Book Review: I'd give it zero stars if I could
Summary: 1 Stars

Despite the high ratings this book seems to have gotten, I do not like it at all (and neither did the 26 month old I read it to -- and I even changed the words trying to make it better). First, the worst is the wording for the boy's anatomy: "a pee pee to make wee wee." As other "one star" reviewers commented, the "potty" looks like a pot or flower pot. The "... and I, Joshua's mother..." is terriby repetitive and serves no useful purpose. The red pages are not aesthetically pleasing. I was glad I checked this out of the library before purchasing it -- it went back to the library the next day (as did about 10 other potty training books for toddlers. They are horrendous! Two books that I did purchase -- and which are the only ones I've found that are any good are: "The Potty Book for Boys" by A. Capucilli and "Big Boys Use the Potty" by DK Publishing.) Actually, I ended up writing my own and used Shutterfly to create it.
