Book Review: One pretty good book

One Great Game tells the story of a match between the two high school teams rated as best in the USA. Long Beach Poly are over-achievers from the ghetto, De La Salle are rich, white and Christian. Except it isn't that simple; Don Wallace goes right inside the teams and the communities they come from. This isn't just a very good book about high school football, its also a good book on modern American Society. It's not as good as Friday Night Lights but it is a very good book.
