This book, like no others that I have read, truly brings Tecumseh and the Shawnee people to life. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. It was absolutely spellbinding. I could hardly wait to read the next page! James Alexander Thom gives us a perspective of Indian life that is truly fascinating and interesting and human. After reading this book I understand Tecumseh better and it makes me wish that I could have known him personally.Book Review: Outstanding

This novel is very close historically to the events as they happened. Thorn has a beautiful way to pull words together, in an almost "singing" manner. The story depects a sad time in US history, where Harrison was "buying" land from Indians who had no business selling it as it didn't belong to anyone. The story gives readers a view into every day life witbin a Shawnee community, and the struggle of men and women attempting to fight for their homeland in the late 1800's.
I tried ot research many of the items mentioned, and found them to be extremely accurate except for the life of the triplets as 2 had died shortly after birth.
I recommend this book to any American who would like to study just how evil our forefathers were, and how they literally stole the land that, to an Indian, was free and a gift from the great spirit. Well done, and well worth the money spent.

Over the years I've read many Indian folklore books, both fact and fiction. Panther In The Sky is my all-time favorite and a book I'll soon read again. James Alexander Thom brings Tecumseh to life in this fascinating, semi-biographical tale. The pages will fly by as you become mesmerized with the story.
