Book Reviews of PassionBook Review: Fantastic!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I had no idea what to expect from this book. I adore erotica but often find that there is always something missing. This book has it all. Unlike a great deal of the reviewers, I didn't mind the language or the rougher more submissive intimacy that is contained in this book. It is just up my alley. It contains the erotic scenes I enjoy coupled with the emotional that makes those scenes all the better. And for all of that, the story was one that didnt let me put this book down until I had devoured it in its entirety. Lisa Valdez is now an auto buy for me...
Book Review: Fine if you like the C and F words Summary: 1 Stars
I got this in a batch of books a friend gave to me, and wow, I have never read anything this bad before. Dressing it up as an historical romance is completely false advertising and insulting to that genre.
And I have to say, it is not even erotic. It is so childish as to be completely unbelieveable, with two foul mouthed, petulant heroes who boink like bunnies and have very little else going for them other than their moving parts.
They are worried about scandal and issues of illegitimacy, yet they act the way they do up against walls, etc? where anyone could see them?
I am more than happy with erotic if it has plot, setting, and interesting characters, but this was a slight and total fantasy plot which does not reflect the genuine atmosphere of the historical time period they were trying to write about. There is nothing romantic about the book at all, and the 'content' in terms of emotional connection could be fit into a thimble. The publisher should be ashamed of themselves for wasting everyone's time with this supposed historical romance. Just call it romantica or erotica and market it honestly as such. (And even then it was more like men's porn than women's erotica--there IS a difference, you know!)
Book Review: For what it's worth... Summary: 4 Stars
Like many other readers I too enjoyed this book. It's not going to win any literary prizes but that's not why you read a romance novel is it. It was a quick easy read that gets going straight from the get go. Yes, the plot was unrealistic in aspects and as for the language used, I found it hard to believe that in the 1800's people, let alone women were freely using the F and C words. The sex scenes were explicit and hot. Yes, I did think some of the over exagerated explanations were funny and not to mention painful :) (wouldn't someone actually die having a male errrm member...that far into your torso???)
But still I enjoyed it and certainly kept my interest.
Book Review: Get the Tissues Out !! Summary: 5 Stars
Very emotional story! Yes, the sensual rating is high, but the plot is captivating and will hold your interest through to the ending. Cannot wait for next story in series. Great Job!
Book Review: Good book Summary: 4 Stars
This was an enjoyable read, although I have to admit that I dont see how the heroine did not have some internal injuries from the sex. Some of it made me cringe with a mental "ouch!!!" Overall a very well-written romantica type story.
