Book Review: "Past Perfect" is nearly perfect
Summary: 4 Stars
Susan Isaacs knows her way around words and insights. She navigates the sea of allusion like an expert sailor and has created characters we care about and a plot that actually exists. You forget when you haven't read her in a while, how truly funny she is and how insightful she is about her characters and the world around her. This novel has the usual ingredients, wife, mother, Jewishness but add to that past politics and today's world and you have the recipe for timely and insightful vistas. She is laugh out loud funny, but not about her plot or what is happening, but what Katie observes about all the types we know. It is, and this is the highest praise, a good read. I actually wait for her books and am now waiting for the next one.
