Book Reviews of Pay It Forward

Book Review: Changing the World
Summary: 5 Stars

It is so cute the way that no matter what bad things happen to Trevor he always stays optimistic. A 13 year old boy gets an assignment to try and change the world and actually suceeds at doing this. The entire story is mainly told from the point of view of a reporter but sometimes it switches to Arlene (Trevor's Mom), Reuben (Trevor's Teacher), Trevor, or Jerry (A Person Trevor Tries to Help). The idea of paying it forward is one person is going to help three people and all of them have to help three other people and it just keeps going and going and it gets really high really fast. I would recommend this book to people who like the idea of someone changing the world or people who want a nice quick read.

Book Review: Couldn't be better
Summary: 4 Stars

Pay it forward is a wonderful piece of work. Catherine Ryan Hyde did a marvelous job putting you in the shoes of the characters. The plot is so entertaining, and the idea of changing the world is extraordinary, yet almost applicable to modern times. It would be great to have some people actually try to put it into action in our day. I strongly recommend this book to all levels of readers.

Book Review: Good Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw the movie than bought the book and could not put it down.

Book Review: Good book but forced ending
Summary: 4 Stars

Save for the "hit you below the belt" ending, I would have giving this book a full ten out of ten. The ending was cheaply melodramatic and just there for shock value. I haven't seen the film though I know enough about it to say that the actors cast for the roles don't look anything like they're described in the book.

Book Review: Good, but sad
Summary: 4 Stars

I enjoyed reading this book, and watching the movie. It made me think twice about life and helping others. I didn't know that one middle school kid could change so many peoples lives. Very insperational, but also makes some tears start flowing.
