This book is the best I have ever read on software project management. It will change the way you think about how software projects should be run. The first edition focused on small teams and their working environment, the second edition adds a "Son of Peopleware" section that expands on the principles for a larger organisation. I've recommended this book to a number of people and thay have all been impressed by it. Read it, you won't regret it.
