DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! This may be the worst book I've ever read. Absolute drivel. Zack, the protagonist, his girl friend and his brother form a sort of psychological three mousekateers united to defeat the dreaded "Dark Man." Before long these silly characters and their pre-teen dialog make you actually root for the Dark Man -- pulling for him to rip the throats out of these dufuses. Why did I keep reading? Because I hoped there might actually be a mystery in this story, somehow, somewhere. The package of clues that accompany the book are intriguing; alas, they are merely pointless marketing junk.
Take my advice. If you are interested in reading something with a more compelling plot line and more complex characters, go to the used book store and pluck out any Nancy Drew book. You'll be far more fulfilled than if you read this inane clunker.
