Book Reviews of Phantom Death

Book Review: Phantom Death
Summary: 5 Stars

I almost hated to have this book come because it is the last of the Phantom novels and I dreaded actually leaving the "Phantom" family and all of his friends and Yes, even the evil doing enemies that Sadie so cleverly weaves into her story. I will say that although it was the last one of her series and I sadly came to the last page I was not disappointed or feel the loss quite so bitterly simply because....It Is one H--- of a great read.

I laughed, I sighed, I cried and I was so moved by this beautiful characterization of Erik, and the story is so elegantly told both through the thoughts and feelings of the individuals being mentioned or by the beautiful descriptions of the surroundings and activities that we visit and live with throughout the story. I am not going to give details of this novel (No spoiler here) but I can tell you it is a gripping tale, one that , if you have read any of the other Sadie novels you must have this one most defintely. It's wonderful, satisfying and absolutely terrific. Thanks Sadie...It's a pleasure knowing you ...and thanks for dedicating it to GB fans ,Tarts and Tartans and especially we Ladies of the Lair.....

Book Review: Phantom Death ? I think not.
Summary: 5 Stars

Megerik (my combined names for Meg and Erik) continue on in their lives.
Their passion despite being the parents of 3 children never dwindles.
Soon Meg is pregnant.

No interlopers bother us in this book.

Still Erik is haunted and impending doom seems to surround him from more than one direction. Mysterious letters from a woman threaten their happiness and a former police man that tortured Erik while in Paris returns.

The mystery woman tries to bring the house down, but it doesn't happen as she plans.
Instead she and Erik develop a kinship of sorts.

The former policeman is not so easily swayed for he is insane.
Bent on revenge.

Sadie spins this tale as always where you wonder how you can endure to see the beloved characters tortured anymore.

Then just when you think you cannot take anymore amazing things happen. Love heals all and the birth of twin boys is the icing on the cake.

You think this is the last installment of the Phoenix of the Opera Series and then you find out there is to be another and you get all excited again.

As with the previous three installments of this series. I highly recommend you read it.

Book Review: The Beat Goes On!
Summary: 5 Stars

Once again, I ventured into this sequel with trepidation; how can fate continue to buffet around this appealing entourage of characters in a way that is both believable and satisfying? Well, Sadie did it again. Weaving a convincing blend of opera, intrigue, and character development, she has us in Eric's corner as he dodges pursuit by the increasingly off-balanced Leroux, the caprice of the spoiled and spurned diva, Carlotta, and even more difficult, the tortures of his own wounded psyche. As before, a growing troup of supporters, now including his own children, conspire to make good out of evil and joy out of misery. I really enjoy the growing solidarity between unlikely allies like Raul and Eric, Eric and Christine, and the deepening trust and intimacy between Eric and Meg. Set in an entertainingly gothic context, these elements reveal a writier who has a keen understanding of real human nature, its foils and victories. So reader, enter without pause and enjoy the ride. Wouldn't this be fun as an offbeat TV serial to save us from the endless proliferation of reality shows?

Book Review: The Music Lives on in My Heart
Summary: 5 Stars

Sadie has done it again. She has created magic.I too hated the thought that this was the end of the phantom series but Sadie did not disappoint me.There were many twist and turns and lots of mystery and intrigue. Many mysteries were unfolded and things made much more sense. You'll need a box of tissues for sure as there will be tears but they won't all be from sadness a few will be from happiness. This is a must read book. But of course you have to start from the beginning Pheonix of the Opera. The whole series is absolutely awesome!

Book Review: The story ends, but will live on.
Summary: 5 Stars

I too approached this book with sadness knowing it was the end of the saga. The story is beautifully written. A HUGE thank you to Ms. Montgomery as her story stays true to the characters we have grown to love from the film, "Phantom of the Opera". All our old friends are back, including one I am sure Erik and Meg could have done without. An old villain also surfaces which leads to the inevitable moment where madness meets madness that is suspenseful and dramatic. As I closed the book for the last time, I thought I would mourn the end of this four part story. Instead, I know that Erik and Meg and Raoul and Christine will live on in the imagination of so many of us fans of this magical story. Sadie, thank you from the heart for sharing the magic with us. Brava!!
