Book Reviews of PilatesBook Review: Excellent very comprehensive manual Summary: 5 Stars
I am a Pilates trainer for 10 years and really like the way this manual is sectioned off with mat and apparatus exercises comprehensively addressed. Rael is a master at his craft and he articulates this through his presentations live and through words on the pages of this manual. I find the photos giving visual perspective an essential addition. This manual is a must on the shelf as a reference for any new or season Pilates teacher - I highly recommend.
Book Review: Excellent! Summary: 4 Stars
PILATES by Rael Isacowitz is one of the best Pilates information books that I have seen! Each page is full of specificity in regards to Muscle Focus, Imagery and Objectives - the pictures are very helpful especially in the Advance Mat exercises. I would love to have this in Spiral Bound to use by my side in teaching, to show my students the correct alignment for each exercise thru the excellent photos. Many thanks for an excellent price, and exquisite book!
Book Review: Great Book Especially For Review Summary: 5 Stars
This book gives a great overview of all the aspects of pilates. There are sections for mat excercise, reformer, cadilac and others. We found this book very useful to review some of the excercises and the proper way of doing them.
I think it is much more helpful to hire a trainer initially, at least to cover the basics and then use this book as a guide. I think it would be difficult to just pick up the book and try to learn, even though it is written very well and easy to understand.
I would recommend this book for somebody who has at least some background and even better who owns a reformer, since many of the excercises use the reformer.
Another useful piece of information... some of the personal pilates instructers were trained using this author's method, so the book very closely follows their instruction.
Book Review: Great book Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a must have for those who like to have great photos and descriptions of the exercises they are attempting. I am a teacher in training and the book was very helpful to me.
Book Review: Great! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this book! It is helping me with my work on my reformer.
