Book Review: It was a Pleasure reading Pleasure!
Summary: 5 Stars

EJD has written the book of the year! Sexual freedom, power, erotic all done in a style that makes this fictious story jump out as real Nia Simone, Mark and Karl are dynamite! In order NOT to give away too much of the plot at the the request of Mr. EJD - all I can say is GET THIS BOOK AND GET READY TO IGNITE!!! This book had me on fire! I am STILL trying to cool off! EJD writes in a method that captures, capitulates and makes you

Book Review: It was my PLEASURE
Summary: 5 Stars

All I have to say is CAN YOU PLEASE KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING. This book was great. I have to admit when he first came to the scene I was not fond of his books. They were a little to trivial and stereotypical for my taste, but now -- these characters have grown on me like when I first started watching Sex and the City. There is a level of familiarity that does not allow me to 'neatly' tuck this one away and read it on a rainy day -- NO, I finished this book within 3 days (unheard of for me because I'm inundated with other things). But, I had to finish Pleasure.

I read it during lunch, in the bathroom, at the stop light -- I even found myself sneaking in a read like I used to do with my parent's Richard Pryor albums (flashback).

Anywho --- E.J. keep it up. As a budding literary artist myself you have joined my list of erudite literary visionaries. I broodingly await the arrival of Dying for Revenge. I am certain that I will be as intensely satisfied with this one as I have been with the rest.

Book Review: It was okay
Summary: 3 Stars

I am a big fan of ejd and i understand that this book is in a different genre that most ejd fans are accustomed to. ejd did something different and is evolving as writer. he is stepping out of his norm and exploring different stories and different characters and for that i can appreciate it. However with this book i was on the fence. i kept reading it more out of curiosity of what was going to happen to the characters. it is erotica folks of course the main subject of the story was going to be sex. what were you expecting? my only beef is that knowing how much of a good writer ejd is i was looking for both a good erotic book along with a good subject and plot. the story just fell flat and toward the end of the book i had no care or sympathy for the characters. usually with an ejd novel i am left still thinking about the characters and the story but not with this one. as one reviewer already said, how could you let your brother sleep with the woman you loved and still marry her knowing she wished that you were someone else? and if you really loved your wife, how could you let yourself get emotionally and physically attached to someone else? all of the characters in this book is just plain dumb in my opinion. i wished that end the end that some way they all realized what they have done and what they were doing take responsibility for their actions. oh well better luck next time ejd, can't wait for Tempted by Trouble to be released in August!!!!!

Book Review: Look past the sex.....
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow! EJD does it again. I was beginning to worry about his ability to dive into the human condition after reading the first 2 Gideon novels. This story was a return to the writer I knew so well. There are times where his descriptive writing is pure poetry. I have to admit if you read this be prepared to accept the pornographic nature of the story. (Warning: Guys don't read this book unless you have a wife or significant other to take all that sexual tension out on: my wife reaped all the benefits of this book!) The title is very self explanatory; it's a story of a woman on a reckless journey through sexual pleasure with identical twins. I was amazed by how deeply she was entrapped by the sexual world. Everything from the books she reads to the conduct of her life points to desires of the flesh. Once you get past the sex or at least set aside your moral judgments you will find yourself seeking to understand her. I wanted to know her motivations or find the source of pain. The scary part of the story is the fact that we often don't know the `why'; we just do what we do. We find a way to reconcile the hypocritical lives we live in order to keep our sanity. The questions are the same: Can a woman have sex without love? Why doesn't a successful woman settle down and marry? Why does a woman prefer not to be attached to a family or submit her desires to expectations? Often we don't like the simple answer; "Just because I want to do it". The answer doesn't make us feel good as a people it rubs against the structure of our society. This book puts that question and answer on display. My only problem with most of EJD's novels is the disregard of safe sexual practices. It could mislead some new readers in the world.
Finally, I recommend that you look into Henry Miller and Anius. EJD references both authors and I have to agree Miller's Sexus, Nexus, and Plexus are interesting reads. Expand your reading world, I often use author references to find a new author.
5 of 5 stars for a great EJD novel.

Book Review: Lots of Bumping and Grinding with Literary Allusions
Summary: 3 Stars

Pleasure is a book about a woman's desire for more sexual fulfillment. Sensitized by Anais Nin's writings, Nia Simone Bijou is intrigued to find two men who fascinate and excite her. She climbs aboard to see how far the ride will take her.

Curiously, although this book is supposed to be from a woman's perspective, I continually felt that I was reading a book from a man's perspective, translated into a woman's perspective by changing the sexes of the various characters. Many men are fascinated by having sexual relationships with two attractive women at the same time, but I'm not sure that very many women feel the same way about having two men.

If you like erotic fiction, you'll probably enjoy this book more than I did. The book became all too predictable after a while, and I didn't really care if I finished it or not. The story wasn't taking me anywhere I wanted to go . . . or to find out about.

In addition, many of the sequences felt more like fantasy that reality. As such, it was hard to identify with the characters or the story.

Eric Jerome Dickey is a talented writer, but he usually puts a little more content into his stories. This one was more sensation than substance.
